Back to the Future

Are dreams something that has happened to us in past lives? Is that why we, sometimes, don't recognise the faces that are within them?

Or are they glimpses into the future?? Our subconscious minds drifting into scenarios that could happen in our lives.....as if our path has been mapped out already?

It's a good thought, or maybe it's just rambling nonsense.
